West Side Campus

History and Intent

WestSide Baptist Church in Warrior Al was founded in 1886. It sits next to I-65 on Dana Road. WestSide served the area of Warrior for over 128 years. So after a 128 year run, unfortunately, the church closed its doors in January of 2015. The North Jefferson Baptist Association has kept the church under its watch care until God revealed His plan. The church has sat dormant for nearly two years.

Our Senior Pastor Joey Hill brought before the HighPoint Congregation in Oct. 2016 to pray about supporting a new work which would entail taking WestSide under it’s wing to start a new church. Pastor Joey said…”In the DNA of HighPoint Community Church is a very definitive code that defines who we are at the core of our being. By our very nature we are a church plant. (Church planting is a process that results in a new (local) Christian church being established.) Because of our DNA, we have an opportunity to plant a church that could help one of our neighboring communities.”

The entire North Jefferson Baptist Association voted unanimously to place WestSide under HighPoint’s leadership. HighPoint now officially has two locations. The new name for the church will be called WestSide Community Church, with a tagline …A Campus of HighPoint Community Church. We embark on this Initiative with the sole intent of making The WestSide Community Church an autonomous church that serves the Warrior area.
